We have been in the plants we serve since 2008.
The first thing Rafed ever sold was a gauge. Knowing what a plant actually reads is still the whole job.
Before starting Rafed in 2008, our managing director and founder spent 28 years serving in upstream and downstream operations for Saudi Aramco and other entities in the Kingdom’s oil and gas sector. Trained in 1970s Germany, he worked on the lines, refineries and pipe networks the company now builds equipment for.
What we have supplied.
18 years of catalogue. We know what fails in a plant because we were the ones shipping the replacement.

Built in the Kingdom.
- 01
Engineering
Schematic, layout, signal integrity, mechanical design and firmware, in Saudi Arabia.
- 02
Electronics
Bare boards fabricated in the Kingdom: multilayer, controlled impedance, verified on test coupons. Assembly, coating, X-ray and optical inspection.
- 03
Mechanical assembly
Enclosures, mounts, fixtures and the coupling hardware that decides whether a sensing measurement means anything.
- 04
Calibration
Every sensing unit against a reference, with the reference named and its own traceability stated.
- 05
Environmental test
Thermal, humidity, shock, vibration and electromagnetic pre-scan, on our own benches, early, because a failure found here is cheap and the same failure found on site is not.
- 06
Secure provisioning
Device identity and keys issued in a controlled process, so a device can prove what it is before it is trusted with anything.
- 07
Field test
On a real site, in real noise, at real temperature, by the crews who will install it.
Build with us.
We design, build, calibrate and test industrial instruments here, for the conditions they will actually work in. Not many places in the Kingdom do that.
Sensing and signal processing
Work out what a pipe or a bearing is actually telling us, and prove it against real data.
Analogue and mixed-signal hardware
Take a board from schematic to production: layout, signal integrity, bring-up.
Embedded platform and firmware
Write the code that runs on the device and has to keep running for years without anyone visiting it.
Mechanical, enclosures and mounting
Make it survive heat, dust and vibration, and make it something one technician can fit.
Optics and machine vision
Light it and frame it so the defect is visible before any model is trained.
OT security and resilient timing
Keep a working plant safe, and keep the clock honest when the satellite is lying.
- Small teamSmall enough that you own a whole problem, not a slice of one.
- Hardware paceBoards get redesigned. Things fail and we say so. Dates hold because we set them ourselves.
- Your work stays hereThe research, the design decisions and the intellectual property stay in this company, with the people who made them.
- Saudi engineers firstWe hire Saudi engineers first, and we mean it.
Write to us. Tell us what you have built and what you want to build next. A CV is fine; the thing you are proudest of is better.
Talk to engineering.
Start from a specification, a drawing, an isometric or a photograph of what you are trying to instrument. The first questions are the same every time: what is in it, at what pressure, what it is made of, how long the run is, and what runs beside it that makes noise.
